Decide how you plan to vote. Vote early (October 13-30):

  1. In-person.
  2. Receive your ballot by mail, complete it, and return it by mail with two postage stamps or by carrier in the official envelope.
  3. Receive your ballot by mail, complete it, and personally deliver it to Harris County Election Headquarters at NRG Arena - Hall D, NRG Pkwy, Houston, TX 770544

Before voting

  1. Research the candidates on your ballot. Check out the League of Women Voters Voters Guide
  2. Download and complete your sample ballot.
  3. Share this Voting Plan with at least 2 friends/voting family members, and invite them to complete their own Plan and come vote with me.

On voting day

  1. Bring a valid form of identification.
  2. Bring your friends & family with you to vote.
  3. Make sure your phone is charged.
  4. How will you get to your polling place?
    • Plan your walk, drive, or METRO ride route using the map (click “Directions” under your polling location)
      • Look at these LINK resources for specific neighborhood transportation maps.
    • Ride free with METRO on October 24, October 26-29, and November 3 when you tell your operator you are going to/from your polling location. This includes METRO local bus, light-rail and METROLift paratransit services.
    • Request a no-cost ride through Rolls to the Polls, NACA and Green House International Church

    • Learn about rideshare options through Lyft/Uber
      • Uber: use the app to find your polling location and receive 50% off roundtrip rides to and from the polls (up to $7 each trip), or up to $14 for the two trips.
      • Lyft: On Election Day, Lyft is offering 50% off one ride up to $10 to any polling location or dropbox using the code 2020VOT
  5. Report suspicious activity or protect yours or others' right to vote by calling the Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE.
  6. Post your experience to social media using #HTownVotes
